Rossendale & Darwen PPC resigns10.05.46am GMT Fri 22nd Jan 2010
Dale Mulgrew the Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Rossendale & Darwen has unfortunately had to resign. Dale explained that he was doing this with deep regret but having just taken on the role of Deputy Leader of Rochdale Council he felt he could not devote the amount of time to Rossendale & Darwen that they deserved. Commenting on his decision Local Party Chairman, Kevin Connor said, "We are sorry to lose Dale but typically he has put the best interests of the Party first. We wish him well in his new job as Deputy Leader and we are sure he will do a good job." The local party are now in the process of selecting a replacement.
