Usually, people who want to use vans or pick up trucks to bring household waste have to arrange a permit in advance. The rule stops businesses dumping commercial waste at the site, pushing up costs for the council. But from 12.30pm on Friday, permits are no longer needed. This will benefit people who want to help their neighbours by taking their rubbish as well. Anyone who is obviously bringing trade waste, who should pay for disposal, will still be challenged and turned away.
