Liberal Democrats have welcomed the trialling of this new pothole repair system

Rhinopatch is a joint-free infrared pothole repair treatment. It is quicker, safer, longer lasting, less disruptive, cheaper and 80 less damaging to the environment.

It is being trialed on the A666 between Earnsdale Avenue and junction four at Earcroft.

This area has been the subject of several complaints due to the deterioration of the surface.

It is a heavily trafficked road which will provide a good site for the trial, which is being carried out by Lancashire County Council's engineering section which uses the system extensively. If successful, the system could be used by the Council.

Darwen Liberal Democrat Councillor and Deputy Leader of the Council, David Foster said, "We have had a lot of complaints about potholes in the Borough and the Council, which is jointly controlled by the Liberal Democrats has put extra money into improving our roads. If this is successful we should be able to do more repairs with less money."
