Lib Dem Councillor condemns closure of Darwen injuries clinic

Darwen Lib Dem Councillor Roy Davies has condemned the closure of the weekend minor injuries unit at Darwen Health Centre.

Health bosses claim that it is little used, but Cllr Davies, who is Chair of the Health Scrutiny Committee, said that it was not publicised widely enough and that closure after just 3 months is short sighted. He said that if people realised that it was available and would not have to endure the long waits at Accident & Emergency Department at Blackburn Hospital they would soon be using it.
