Local public transport review update

The Council has undertaken a review of local public transport services. The review follows concerns about cuts in some services in the Borough and the Council needs to decide how it uses its limited budget for subsidised bus routes.
Part of this survey involves a detailed telephone questionnaire involving a wide cross section of the community.
We are also interviewing people at a number of transport hubs across the borough.
Commenting on the review Lib Dem Leader Cllr. David Foster said,"It is important that we have the right public transport infrastructure to serve the needs of our local community, for work, leisure, social activities etc. We only have limited control over public transport but we will be working with the bus companies to try and gain the maximum benefit for local people. These surveys will give us the information we need to make funding decisions in the future."
The questionnaires will start on Saturday 9th January for two weeks at the following locations:
Hoddlesden Village (Queens Square) (Sat 9th and Sat 16th Jan)
Edgworth Village (post office and shops at junction of Blackburn Rd/Bolton Rd/Bury Rd/Broadhead Rd) (Sat 9th and Sat 16th Jan)
Belmont Village (High Street) - (Sat 16th Jan)
Daily interviews will be taking place in Blackburn and Darwen Town Centres at a range of locations for two weeks from Sat 9th January. All interviewers will have Council accreditation.
